I thought it would be only a matter of time before someone picked up on this.

Are you seriously going to tell me, that a religion first devised 2,000 years ago, during a time when sexism and rape culture was arguably at it's most extreme, is based on the idea that an all-powerful to-be-worshipped-at-all-costs god, came down and asked quietly "Hey Mary, could you carry my child?".

I mean come on.

The entire story the embodiment of rape culture: that the patriarchy has some kind of right to do as they please to women.

I am not going to apologise for pointing out the ugly truth.

Point of note: I'm an atheist so I don't believe in any of these bible stories anyway, but I certainly wouldn't be trying to defend the ideas presented here.
